Most Florida residents don’t need a degree in plan design to choose. We walk through the tiers with you on the phone and match you to the right one based on your doctors, prescriptions, and how often you actually use care. All four tiers cover the same essential health benefits — the difference is how costs are split between you and the insurer.
Best for healthy people who rarely need care and primarily want protection against a major medical event. Low monthly cost, high risk if you use healthcare.
The benchmark plan for most Florida residents. The only tier where Cost Sharing Reductions apply — which can reduce deductibles to as low as $100–$300 for qualifying households.
Higher premium but lower costs when you actually use care. Good fit if you have regular doctor visits, prescriptions, or ongoing medical needs.
Highest monthly premium, lowest out-of-pocket costs. Best for people who expect frequent or expensive care and want maximum financial protection.
2026 individual out-of-pocket maximum across all tiers: $10,600

Premium tax credits reduce what you actually pay each month. Many Florida residents qualify for plans significantly below full price — and some qualify for $0 premium plans. The key is applying your subsidy correctly before comparing tiers.

☎Check My Subsidy EligibilitySilver plans are the only tier eligible for Cost Sharing Reductions (CSRs) — additional savings that can dramatically lower your deductible and out-of-pocket costs if your income qualifies.
CSR values are approximate and vary by plan and county. If you qualify, choosing a Bronze plan instead of Silver means giving up these additional savings entirely. This is why Silver is often the smarter choice even with a slightly higher premium.

The most common mistake Florida residents make is choosing a plan based on monthly premium alone. A cheap premium with a $7,000 deductible can cost far more than a Silver plan once you actually use care.

The tiers differ in how costs are shared between you and the insurer — not in the quality of care. Bronze covers about 60% of costs (lowest premium, highest deductible). Silver covers about 70% and is the only tier eligible for Cost Sharing Reductions. Gold covers about 80%. Platinum covers about 90% with the highest premium but lowest out-of-pocket costs. We walk you through which one makes financial sense for your situation.
Silver plans are the only tier where Cost Sharing Reductions apply. If your income qualifies, a Silver plan can reduce your deductible to as low as $100–$300 — far better than a Bronze plan at $7,000+. Choosing Bronze when you qualify for CSRs on Silver means leaving significant savings on the table. We check this before making any recommendation.
Many Florida residents qualify for premium tax credits based on household income and size. These reduce your monthly premium before you pay. Enhanced subsidies that were in place 2021–2025 expired at the end of 2025, so 2026 subsidy amounts are based on standard ACA rules. We run your specific numbers at no cost to show you exactly what you qualify for. See our Florida subsidies guide for more detail.
For 2026, the maximum out-of-pocket cap on ACA Marketplace plans is $10,600 for an individual and $21,200 for a family. Once you hit this limit, your insurance covers 100% of covered in-network services for the rest of the year. Silver plans with Cost Sharing Reductions can reduce this limit significantly for qualifying households.
Open Enrollment for 2027 coverage runs November 1 through December 15, 2026 — shorter than prior years due to a rule change. Plans selected by December 15 take effect January 1, 2027. Outside of Open Enrollment, you need a qualifying life event for a Special Enrollment Period. See our Special Enrollment guide or call us to check your eligibility window.
